Aurora Jackson, Professor Emerita of Social Welfare at UCLA, is renowned for her scholarship examining the complex dynamics between economic hardship, parental psychological well-being, parenting practices, and child development in low-SES, single-parent families. Her research has been supported by grants from the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), the William T. Grant Foundation, and the National Center on Minority Health Disparities, as well as through a visiting scholarship at the Russell Sage Foundation.
